AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting 6 week program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title.

Any dog of any breed- purebred or mixed, is open to participate as long as they are under one year of age. At the end of the 6 week course you will receive a puppy medal and your puppy will be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records once test form has been received by the AKC.

AKC CGC CLASSES

AKC CGC classes are a 6 week program designed to help prepare dogs and owners to take the AKC CGC test which is a 10- skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.  

Any breed of dog- purebred or mixed breed, is able to participate. In order to receive the  official CGC title and certificate, your dog must have an AKC number through AKC registration as one of the recognized breeds, AKC Canine Partners for mixed breed dogs and dogs not eligible for AKC registration, PAL ( Purebred Alternative Listing) for purebred dogs that cannot be fully registered with the AKC, and FSS (Foundation Stock Services) for recorded breeds in process of full AKC recognition

What is CGC Community Canine and Urban?

AKC CGC Community Canine (also known as Advanced CGC or CGCA) and CGC Urban (or CGCU) is the next level in training after passing the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. This 6 week program will help prepare your dog for both the CGCA and CGCU tests which will be given the last day of class. These tests will test the dogs ability and training in public, pet friendly locations and is designed to test the dog's skills in a natural, real world setting. 

This class is ideal for service dogs in training and pets looking to expand their training out in public.

Location: Each week we will have class at a new, pet friendly location to help prepare for the test. 

When: First class begins on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00 am.

Cost: This 6 week course is $250 per dog and includes the cost of the test at the end of the course.
